A Short Profile of ASD
ASD (Albanian Society in Development) was established in 2000 by the vision and initiative of a handful of young people to contribute to which we call our device: "The youth is the future, the future it is made in the present and the present is our responsibility".
We aim to:
- Develop the civil society in Albania; make awareness to maintain human, national, democratic and cultural values
- Promote human rights giving special emphasis to youth and children
- Encourage youth participation in decision making processes and in local and regional life
- Cooperate and coordinate the activity with international organisations with a similar nature, on local and centre levels, which take part or propose national and international projects in the field of the human rights and freedom
- Stimulate the human equality (sensitisation of the society for the role of every one in the society, empowering of the individual rights)
- In particular, the question of minority groups, social inclusion, and equal rights are issues that we are keenly aware of, and seek to promote in our work

ASD – as YOUTH Contact Point
On 1 April 2006 our organisation ASD and IRSH organisation from Shkodra have been appointed Contact Points for YOUTH Program in Albania.
Since we have been appointed YOUTH contact point, but plainly much before, we strongly feel the responsibility and the importance of such a duty and engagement. Before being a contact point we have been working and giving our contribution to promoting the YOUTH program through different means: organizing workshops, but also, in smaller and informal meetings with the most serious Albanian NGO-s. Our criteria is rising awareness of the crucial importance of collaboration and exchanges between our young people and those of the region and much larger. We truly and deeply believe that one of the most important means of having an harmonious and peaceful future together in the European Family is to build strong and sincere relations between the young people, whenever they are; is to forgive and forget the past which often hurts, and try to thing not nationally, but internationally, in the best meaning this word bears. We do believe in the universal values of love, friendship and forgiveness and coexistence as brothers and we put such aims in our efforts to promote YOUTH program, which is bearer of such values.
We have been developed several activities and projects within YOUTH Program, but we are sharing with you our experience in the last project:
